Two Partners Named to The National Law Journal's 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America List

Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky and Jamie Gorelick, both partners at WilmerHale, have been named to The National Law Journal's (NLJ) list of "The 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America." The NLJ describes the 50 lawyers included on the list as women who have "demonstrated the power to change the legal landscape, shape public affairs," and "launch industries."

Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky is noted for her achievement as "architect and chief negotiator of the deal that brought China into the World Trade Organization," as well as her instrumental work in stabilizing US-Vietnam relations through trade. She is considered a "legend in international business deals and trade agreement negotiations," having negotiated trade and investment agreements across the globe in sectors as diverse as financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and agriculture. Her legal career spans international litigation, commercial negotiations, and investment, market access and regulatory advice, as well as dispute resolution.

Jamie Gorelick is recognized for her leadership of the firm's national security and public policy and strategy groups and her valuable "insight on the intersection of law and policy has been sought after by chief executives and boards" of some of the world's most prominent companies. As a former US Deputy Attorney General, the NLJ also celebrated her appointment to the 9/11 Commission and her work for the Center for Strategic and International Studies in its Study of the Embassy of the Future.
